About the Staff
Brian Miller, BS, CPOA
Certified Prosthetic/Orthotic Assistant
Brian joined Bio-Medic Appliances, Inc. in 2008. Brian is a certified prosthetic and orthotic assistant as well as a certified athletic trainer with a background in sports medicine and physical therapy. He has many years of experience in both St. Johnsbury and South Burlington in general physical therapy practices, and has served as an athletic trainer for the Vermont Ice Storm, our semi-pro football team, and numerous Vermont high school teams. Brian’s years of experience working with patients are a strong complement to his technical experience as an orthotic technician. Brian received his athletic trainer certification from Lyndon State College in Lyndon Vermont.
Brian is a born and raised Vermonter from Lyndonville, Vermont. Brian lives in Westford, Vermont with his wife Lori and their two children. He and Lori are both avid hockey players (a match made in heaven!) but play on separate teams to preserve their harmonious marriage.
Chris, also a native Vermonter, is the younger brother of Dan Hebert, the founder of Bio-Medic Appliances, Inc., and has been with the company for many years. Chris grew up in the field of prosthetics and orthotics under the wing of his older brother and received his training here at Bio-Medic Appliances. Chris is one of those rare individuals with a natural mechanical aptitude. His great gift is being able to fix practically anything. Whether it’s a prosthesis with an annoying squeak, or one of our machines with a bad motor, Chris is our go-to person with the magic touch. Chris also brings a special perspective to his work. A diabetic himself, he knows firsthand how serious some of the diseases are that we treat here, and finds that giving back to a group that he is part of is very rewarding.
Chris lives in Alburgh, Vermont with his wife Jennifer, their son, and numerous furry and/or feathered animals. He enjoys gardening, fixing things (of course), computers and spending time with his family.
David Currie, BFA
David joined Bio-Medic Appliances, Inc. in 2009. David grew up in Shelburne, Vermont. He came to Bio-Medic Appliances, Inc. with an undergraduate degree in fine arts from Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts. David brings a unique artistic perspective to his technical work, and takes pride in perfecting every project he works on.
David lives in Milton, Vermont, with his girlfriend Emily. He can sometimes be found creating his own art – abstract sculptures from found objects - when not working here at Bio-Medic Appliances. He and Emily have two cats named Cannon Ball and Thicky (don’t ask.)
Ronni grew up in Long Island, New York. She received an associate’s degree in secretarial/executive studies from Nassau Community College in Long Island and eventually moved to Vermont in 1985. Ronni joined Bio-Medic Appliances, Inc. in 2007 with many years of experience in the medical field as a receptionist. She has since become a medical billing specialist for us. Ronni’s previous employers include a physical/occupational therapy practice and an optometry group, both local. Vermont being the small town that it is, our new patients often recognize her when they come in for their first visit.
Ronni, an avid reader lives in Burlington, Vermont with her husband Mark. Together they enjoy traveling and taking long motorcycle rides. Ronni has recently become a below knee amputee. She enjoys connecting with our prosthetic patients and sharing her enthusiasm and insight into her own prosthetic experiences.
