OUR STAFF

Brian Miller, BS, CPOA
Certified Prosthetic/Orthotic Assistant

Brian joined Bio-Medic Appliances, Inc. in 2008. Brian is a certified prosthetic and orthotic assistant as well as a certified athletic trainer with a background in sports medicine and physical therapy. He has many years of experience in both St. Johnsbury and South Burlington in general physical therapy practices, and has served as an athletic trainer for the Vermont Ice Storm, our semi-pro football team, and numerous Vermont high school teams. Brian’s years of experience working with patients are a strong complement to his technical experience as an orthotic technician. Brian received his athletic trainer certification from Lyndon State College in Lyndon Vermont.

Brian is a born and raised Vermonter from Lyndonville, Vermont. Brian lives in Westford, Vermont with his wife Lori and their two children. He and Lori are both avid hockey players (a match made in heaven!) but play on separate teams to preserve their harmonious marriage.

Chris Hebert
Prosthetic/Orthotic Technician

Chris, also a native Vermonter, is the younger brother of Dan Hebert, the founder of Bio-Medic Appliances, Inc., and has been with the company for many years. Chris grew up in the field of prosthetics and orthotics under the wing of his older brother and received his training here at Bio-Medic Appliances. Chris is one of those rare individuals with a natural mechanical aptitude. His great gift is being able to fix practically anything. Whether it’s a prosthesis with an annoying squeak, or one of our machines with a bad motor, Chris is our go-to person with the magic touch. Chris also brings a special perspective to his work. A diabetic himself, he knows firsthand how serious some of the diseases are that we treat here, and finds that giving back to a group that he is part of is very rewarding.

Chris lives in Alburgh, Vermont with his wife Jennifer, their son, and numerous furry and/or feathered animals. He enjoys gardening, fixing things (of course), computers and spending time with his family.

David Currie, BFA
Prosthetic/Orthotic Technician

David joined Bio-Medic Appliances, Inc. in 2009. David grew up in Shelburne, Vermont. He came to Bio-Medic Appliances, Inc. with an undergraduate degree in fine arts from Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts. David brings a unique artistic perspective to his technical work, and takes pride in perfecting every project he works on.

David lives in Milton, Vermont, with his girlfriend Emily. He can sometimes be found creating his own art – abstract sculptures from found objects – when not working here at Bio-Medic Appliances. He and Emily have two cats named Cannon Ball and Thicky (don’t ask.)

 Molly Lyon

Molly joined our team in the fall of 2016. Molly joined us after 27 years working in Dr. Groening’s office where she was the office manager and overall wonder woman extraordinaire. Molly is the front office manager and focuses on billing and administration.

Helen Parent Hyldburg

Helen joined Bio-Medic Appliances, Inc. in 2010 as our part-time receptionist. She came to the company with many years of experience in a large local dental practice, where she served as clinical coordinator and dental assistant. Today Helen works full time for us and her focus is administration and insurance compliance.

Helen lives in Essex Junction, Vermont with her husband, Tim. They enjoy cooking and entertaining, spending time with extended family and travelling.

Cassi Frink

Cassi joined our team in September of 2019. Cassi joined us after moving to Vermont from Arizona. She is still learning to like snow! Cassi initially worked at the University of Vermont Medical Center where she worked in the staffing office.

Cassi lives in Williston with her boyfriend David. In their free time they enjoy watching tv and relaxing around the house. Maybe one day they will be daring enough to adventure outside in the snow

Corey Pettengill

Corey was born and raised in Vermont and attended the University of Vermont where he studied Biology. During his undergraduate studies, he interned at Bio-Medic which is where he was first introduced to Orthotics and Prosthetics and fell in love with the field.

After graduating from undergrad, Corey moved to Michigan to obtain his Masters Degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics from Eastern Michigan University. From there, he moved to Colorado to complete his residency. Wishing to be closer to family and the beautiful Green Mountains, Corey returned back to Vermont to continue his career in orthotics and prosthetics where he first started at Bio-Medic.

Outside of work, Corey enjoys hiking, rock climbing, volleyball and spending time with his two cats Dill and Sprout.
