Dan & Susan Hebert, Founders

Dan Hebert founded Bio-Medic Appliances in 1985, under the name “SuperTech”. In the beginning, Dan ran the business out of his garage and focused solely on his expert fabrication of prosthetic and orthotic devices.

Dan started seeing patients three years later when he opened the clinical facility, and changed the name to Bio-Medic Appliances.

From the very beginning, Bio-Medic Appliances was a family business. Dan was the practitioner; his wife Susan was the owner and business manager; Dan’s younger brother Chris worked in the lab as a technician; and Dan and Susan’s youngest daughter, Amanda joined the practice at age 18, eventually becoming a certified prosthetist/orthotist and the office manager.

In January 2007, the Heberts retired and sold Bio-Medic Appliances, Inc. to the current owner, Deborah Wilde.

The Heberts currently live in North Carolina, where Amanda continues to work in the field of orthotics & prosthetics, as a facility manager for a North Carolina orthotics and prosthetics company. Dan and Susan are enjoying an active retirement, and Dan gets to go fishing whenever Sue lets him. Their two other daughters have moved to North Carolina as well, and they are enjoying spoiling their first grandchild. We thank the Hebert family for their many years of hard work and dedicated patient care, and we wish them all the best in their retirement.
